As Netflix got ahead of the curve thanks to the K-drama craze, its competitor Disney went after it fiercely.

Next year, we decided to pour 39 trillion won into content, an increase of nearly 10 trillion won from this year.

The Korean drama ‘Hell’, which is running the number one series worldwide on Netflix.

‘Hell’, which was released on the 19th and ranked first in one day, regained the number one spot on the 22nd and is gaining popularity.

CNN reported, “This year’s Korean dramas are amazing,” and “‘Hell’ is a new squid game.”

Netflix has benefited from ‘The Squid Game’.

‘Squid Game’, released in September, ranked first in the world for 46 days, recording 4.4 million paid subscribers in the third quarter of Netflix, 25% more than expected.

In the fourth quarter, when the squid game-related performance is reflected, Netflix sales and net profit are expected to increase significantly.

Rival Disney, conscious of Netflix, which has benefited from K-drama like this, has recently started to openly service OTT Disney Plus, an online video platform, in Korea.

As a commemoration, a lot of original Korean contents such as ‘You and My Police Class’ were introduced, and next year, we will start investing in large-scale contents.

The budget for next year’s content was set at 39 trillion won by increasing 8 billion won and 9.5 trillion won.

We plan to use the huge budget for dramas and movies that will be installed on our streaming platforms such as Disney Plus and Hulu.

OTT companies around the world are paying attention to the K-drama craze and profitability, such as the recent installation of the drama ‘Mt.
