For the first time in 14 years since 2008, diesel prices have surpassed gasoline prices and are rising day by day.

The burden on truck and construction equipment drivers who make a living with diesel vehicles is increasing.

Yes, this is Seoul West Truck Terminal.

Truck drivers were also affected by the ‘urea water crisis’, so you must be worried this time too, right?

Yes, this terminal is a resting place for truck drivers to wait for their calls.

I had a conversation with some drivers who came back from the service about the recent surge in diesel prices.

As the price of diesel rises, one voice said that it was burdensome to add oil.

A truck driver, who mainly goes from Seoul to Pohang, said that he had to pay more than 100,000 won to fill 200 liters of diesel.

As of 8 am today, the national average gasoline price is 1949.41 won per liter and 1954.73 won per liter, which is 5 won more expensive than diesel.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is the main reason for the rise in international diesel prices.

In Europe, where more than 60% of diesel imports depend on Russia, it is even said that even if you go to a gas station, you cannot put diesel in.

The government’s 30% cut in fuel tax also had an impact.

The tax on gasoline decreased by 247 won, but only 174 won on diesel.

The price gap narrowed because the tax cut for gasoline, which was relatively expensive, was larger than that for diesel.

After covering the oil industry, it was agreed that this situation would be difficult to normalize in a short period of time.

This means that the price reversal of diesel will continue for a long time.

As there is still room to expand the range of fuel tax cuts, some argue that the government should take additional measures quickly.

In the second half of the year, diesel prices are expected to continue to rise as demand is expected to expand further due to the recovery of COVID-19.

So far, it has been delivered from Seobu Truck Terminal in Seoul.
