The number of new Corona 19 patients reached 74,000, the highest in three months as of Wednesday.
The government plans to start related discussions the day after tomorrow (9th) with the indoor mask lift in mind at the end of January.

Let’s start with the status of the COVID-19 outbreak.

As of 0 o’clock today, the number of new corona19 patients was counted as 74,714.
This is a decrease of 2,800 from yesterday, but an increase of 7,200 compared to a week ago.
As of Wednesday, it’s the highest in 12 weeks.
Following yesterday’s record of the highest number of confirmed cases in 83 days, a resurgence in winter is showing an increase.
There are 441 severely ill patients receiving hospitalization, and on the 19th day, the number is maintained at a high level of 400.
The death toll was counted at 54, bringing the cumulative death toll to 30,847.
Quarantine authorities have determined that the current winter epidemic may be in the middle of the winter season, saying that the fatality rate appears to be increasing due to the tendency for fewer people to be tested.
Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min also evaluated that this is expected to be the last hurdle of the winter resurgence.

Yes, Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min announced at the Corona 19 critical meeting a little while ago that he would start discussing the adjustment direction for the mandatory mask wearing the day after tomorrow (9th).
He also said that he would prepare a final draft by the end of this month after a public debate and expert advisory meeting on the 15th.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said that experts were predicting that the requirements for removing masks indoors might be reached by the end of next month.
At the end of January, the possibility of lifting the obligation to wear masks indoors was hinted at.
In the meantime, quarantine authorities have said that the indoor mask duty can be lifted around March next year, but if it is lifted at the end of January, the lifting point will be advanced by more than a month.
Prime Minister Han also conveyed an expert opinion that since Corona 19 is prevalent in winter, at least the position of taking off after the winter epidemic has passed.
Previously, some local governments, including Daejeon City and Chungcheongnam-do, announced that they would voluntarily lift the obligation to wear indoor masks from January 1 next year.
