[영상] Neutral Finland declares membership in NATO… West-Russia ‘dispute detonator’ explodes again

(Seoul = Yonhap News) The aftermath of the Ukraine war is shaking up Europe’s security landscape.

Finland, which witnessed the Russian invasion of Ukraine, gave up its 74-year military neutrality and officially declared its membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on the 12th (local time).

Sweden, another neutral country adjacent to Finland, is also a member of NATO, so NATO is one step closer to Russia.

The NATO alliance, including the United States, immediately welcomed Finland’s declaration of membership.

After Finland’s announcement, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg was pleased, saying that it would proceed with the NATO membership process ‘smoothly and quickly’.

The issue is expected to be on the official agenda at the NATO Summit to be held in Madrid, Spain, at the end of June.

Russia, which invaded Ukraine on the pretext that NATO’s eastward movement was a threat to its own country, actually encouraged NATO’s eastward movement.

Russia has been very sensitive to Finland and Sweden’s accession to NATO, which borders the border, and has warned at a high level.

Russia responded strongly to Finland’s announcement, calling it a “radical change in foreign policy” and “will have no choice but to take military, technical and other retaliatory measures to stop the rising national security threat.”

Let’s see the video.
