[영상] The American sky is dyed green all over… The reason is?

The skies in parts of the United States have turned green.

According to foreign media such as the New York Times (NYT) and Washington Post (WP) on the 6th local time, the sky in some areas of the United States such as South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska turned green on the 5th.

Videos and photos of this appearance have been uploaded to social media (SNS) such as Twitter and Instagram.

The reason the sky has turned all green is because of a storm called ‘Derezzo’. They often do extensive damage to parts of the central United States.

Derezzo is familiar to those who live in South Dakota, but it is not uncommon for the sky to turn green like this time.

Peter Rogers, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, said: “This color can appear before or during a storm, depending on how sunlight interacts with the particles in the atmosphere.”

On the other hand, Terrezzo affected an area of about 386 km centered on South Dakota on the 5th. In some areas, strong winds of 159 km/h were observed.

This has caused power poles to collapse in South Dakota and Illinois, causing power outages to tens of thousands of homes.
