In Bensalem, Pennsylvania, police arrested 16-year-old Joshua Cooper for allegedly murdering a girl and then asking on Instagram for help disposing of the body, the news channel reports „CNN“.
A concerned mother called local police after her daughter received an Instagram video chat from a friend, a spokesman for the agency said. In the clip, the 16-year-old was seen saying he had just killed someone. He then rotated the video image to show the feet and legs of a blood-covered person. He then asked if anyone could help him get rid of the dead woman.
The mother immediately realized that the video was not a bad joke and called the police emergency call center. The cops didn’t believe it was a joke either and made their way to the youth’s address, a trailer park outside of town.
On site, they found a bloody dead girl with a gunshot wound in the bathroom of the silver camper. According to the police, there were also numerous indications that someone had tried desperately to remove traces of blood from the crime scene. Who exactly the 13-year-old dead is, according to the police, has not yet been clarified.
In one of the trailer’s bedrooms, police also found a safe containing firearms, as well as a holster with the pistol missing, reports said „The Philadelphia Inquirer“. Cooper himself was later arrested some distance from the trailer park.
He was held in a juvenile detention center without bail, police said. He is accused of several offenses in the context of killing a person, illegally possessing a firearm and manipulating or falsifying evidence.
