The number of COVID-19 cases surged in the Outaouais today as public health records 30 new cases.
Two outbreaks of particular interest in the region, the one among the blue collar workers of the City of Gatineau and the one at the CHSLD Lionel-Émond in the Hull sector.
According to the Outaouais Health Workers Union, 23 people have contracted the virus within the establishment, which has been severely affected by COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais will provide an update on this subject at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
There are currently 143 active cases in the region.
