20 minutes – Harry and Meghan quit their London office

When Duchess Meghan (38) and Prince Harry (35) announced that they would step down as senior royals, the couple stressed that they would spend at least part of their time in the UK in the future. However, the assumptions of the British press are increasing: Harry and Meghan leave the country forever.

Would you like to work for the royals?

That’s how it’s done: Install the latest version of the 20-minute app. On the home screen, tap the three strips at the top right, then tap the gear. At the bottom of «Themes», slide the bar on «People» to the right – it’s already going.

By the way, the 20-minute people team is also on Instagram.

The speculation is based on current reports that the royal couple are said to have fired the entire workforce from their office at Buckingham Palace. As the “Daily Mail” writes, the company, which includes a secretariat and a communications department, will be discontinued.

Some people get new jobs

15 employees are affected by the decision. For some of them there are job opportunities in other areas of daily business around the British royal family. “Unfortunately, there will also be people who cannot be offered a new job,” an anonymous source told the newspaper.

“The employment of so many employees simply doesn’t make any sense after the resignation,” it continues. Meghan and Harry made the decision to give up the London office a while ago. The employees had already been informed of this in January.

Couple keeps home in Windsor

The 15 employees who lose their jobs in the Sussex office are not the first to be affected by the couple’s resignation. In mid-January, it leaked out that Harry and Meghan had fired their house staff. Only a cleaning lady and the house manager will hold the position at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor in the future.

Meghan and Harry still want to keep the property, which is on the grounds of Windsor Castle. How much time the couple with son Archie will actually spend there in the future remains open, however.
