2020 Pre-Olympic Team appointments before the Tokyo Games

| |

There are barely six months left for the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games. Tokyo 2020, and the Spanish pre-Olympic sailing team has a tight schedule ahead and two important issues to be defined: the classes in which Spain will finally compete and the names of the crews that will form the Olympic Team.

After four years of hard work comes the moment of truth, to take the last steps to represent Spain in the Olympic Games. For some classes the time has come for the final decision: choose the best crew; for others, the classification of Spain as a country for the Games remains to be achieved.

The work is still team

For the Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Finn classes, the priority objective continues to be the classification of Spain as a country to participate in the Olympic Games.

The key to seal that passport will be in the World Cup Series that will be held in Genoa next April, where 2 seats for Laser Standard, 2 for Radial Laser and 1 for Finn will be put into play among European countries that have not yet achieved its classification.

From the common objective to the personal objective

RS: X male and female, 470 male and female, 49er, 49er FX and Nacra 17 are the classes that already have an Olympic square, so since their achievement, the work of the crews selected as a pre-Olympic team goes from work of equipment to classify Spain, with the personal objective of being the chosen ones to represent our country in Tokyo 2020.

The evolution in the different competitions in which they have participated and will participate, as well as technical criteria will define the list that, once approved by the Higher Sports Council, will form the Spanish Olympic Team.
