2022 F1 Abu Dhabi test results (morning): Charles Leclerc tops[F1-Gate.com]

The 2022 F1 Abu Dhabi test was held at Yas Marina Circuit on Tuesday, November 22, and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) marked the top time in the morning’s four-hour session.

After the final F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ended on Sunday, the team remained at the Yas Marina Circuit for post-season testing, the last official test of the year. Aimed at testing Pirelli’s 2023 tyres, each team runs two cars, one for race drivers and one for rookie drivers who have started in two races or less.

For drivers who will transfer teams in 2023 and drivers who will make their F1 debut, it will be the first opportunity to get used to the environment while driving in the new team’s F1 machine.

Fernando Alonso (Alpine to Aston Martin), Pierre Gasly (Alpine to Alpine), Nick de Vries (AlphaTauri), Oscar Piastri (McLaren) and Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) for the first time with the new team did the work.

10 sets (C1 x 1, C2 x 1, C3 x 3, C4 x 3, C5 x 2) for race drivers, 8 sets (C3 x 2, C4 x 4, C5 x 2) and different numbers for rookie drivers 2023 tires will be assigned.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) recorded the top time in the morning. He ran 50 laps and marked 1:25.383. Second place was followed by rookie Robert Schwartzman.

Third fastest was Fernando Alonso, who made his first run for Aston Martin. He ran 69 laps and marked 1:26.312. Sergio Perez (Red Bull) is fourth.

Pierre Guthrie, who made his first run with the Alpine F1 team, marked 1 minute 26 seconds 555, which was 5th place.

Other debuts/transfers included Nick de Vries (AlphaTauri) in 16th, Oscar Piastri (McLaren) in 17th, and Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) in 18th after running only 27 laps due to machine trouble. , Logan Sargenso (Williams) was 19th.

The F1 Abu Dhabi test will run until 18:00 local time (23:00 Japan time).
