On December 1, at the World Cup in Qatar, the matches of the 3rd round of the group stage in groups E and F took place. The teams of Japan and Morocco came out from the first places in the playoffs, from the second – Spain and Croatia. Thus, six of the eight pairs of the 1/8 finals have been finally formed. The Spaniards, who took second place in their group after losing to the Japanese, will have to beat Morocco in the 1/8 finals. In this case, Luis Enrique’s team will play either the winner of Group H (Portugal or Ghana) or the second team from Group G (any of the four) in the quarter-finals.
