In response to a question on the switch from Ramed to AMO at the end of the Council of Government, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with Parliament, and government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, delivered some details.

“The generalization of social coverage is a royal project, which the government is responsible for applying”, declared Mustapha Baitas. “The last bill in this project was adopted this Thursday, December 8 in the Council of Government. It concerns people who do not belong to any compulsory health insurance scheme and who are able to pay their contributions“, he added.

“This text will then be presented to Parliament for approval. It will be followed by two application texts to complete this major project,” he continued.

Regarding the switch from Ramed to AMO, Mustapha Baitas indicated that “the 4 million families, i.e. 11 million people concerned, were automatically transferred to AMO. However, there are people who have changed phone numbers or who, at the time of their first registration at Ramed, have given the number of one of their relatives et have not received their new AMO registration numbers. These people should contact the following number: 05.20.19.40.40 or pick it up on the portal www.macnss.ma“.

He also announced that “during the first two days of December (December 1 and 2), 30.000 consultations were carried out free of charge by former Ramedists at the level of public establishments”.
