3,035 new confirmed cases by 9 pm last night… ‘Most of the same time zones in Seoul’

The spread of COVID-19 is increasing day by day.

As of 9 p.m. for two days in a row, the number of new confirmed cases exceeded 3,000.

Seoul broke the record for the most confirmed cases in the same time period in one day.

Until 9:00 last night (24th), a total of 3,035 new corona19 confirmed cases occurred in 16 cities and provinces nationwide except Busan.

As of 9:00 pm, it recorded 3,000 people for two days in a row, 502 fewer than the day before (23rd) when the highest number of daily confirmed cases was recorded.

In the metropolitan area, 2,370, or 78% of the total, were confirmed, and 665 were confirmed in the non-metropolitan area.

In particular, in Seoul, 1,513 people were confirmed as of 9 p.m., breaking the record for the most in the same time zone in one day.

Considering the number of confirmed cases to be added by midnight, when the counting ends, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of 00:00 on the 25th is expected to record mid-to-late 3,000.

On the day (23rd), which broke the record for the most confirmed cases, 578 additional cases were confirmed after 9 pm.

As the number of patients with severe cases is also rapidly increasing along with new confirmed cases, the problem of securing hospital beds is becoming more and more serious in the metropolitan area.

While the quarantine authorities have already issued an executive order to expand the third bed this month alone, it has suggested that emergency measures may be taken soon in the metropolitan area, where the spread is strong.
