TTA region: 36 MDH allocated to the promotion of the social and solidarity economy

A multilateral agreement, worth 36 million dirhams (MDH), was concluded to promote the units of the social and solidarity economy (ESS) at the level of the region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima.

This budget envelope will be mobilized within the framework of the partnership agreement between the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity (15 MDH), the Council of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (15 MDH) and the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North (APDN, 6 MDH), in addition to the supervision and support provided by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture.

The agreement, covering the period 2022-2024, aims to promote the SSE, through the convergence of projects of common interest, by implementing a support and assistance program for cooperatives, groups of cooperatives and groups of economic interest working in the sector of the promotion and marketing of local products of the region, in particular those with added value and which constitute a lever for the local economy, particularly in rural areas.

To achieve this objective, the units of the ESS will be supported to enhance, develop and market their local products so that they meet the needs of the national and international market. Also, this program aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the products of professional groups, develop their activities, support agricultural development, rehabilitate the SSE in the region, create job opportunities, and improve the living conditions of members of professional groups. benefiting from the program.

In this regard, an approach based on participatory diagnosis will be applied to professional organizations in terms of organization, governance, the marketing strategy used, as well as the determination of target markets, the adaptation of the product to health criteria, the development of detailed work plans with the aim of developing the activities of beneficiary organisations, training and supporting professional organizations to carry out their work plans.

The program essentially targets active professional groups that operate in the promotion of local products in the region, in particular those who have the necessary capacities for development and the bearers of feasible projects and creators of work opportunities, in particular those who do not have no production units or having units that do not meet the criteria required to obtain licenses and sanitary approval, or that do not have the materials and mechanisms necessary to enhance the product.

The support provided under this program includes the construction and fitting out of production units in order to obtain health licenses and approvals, the supply and purchase of equipment, structuring, organization, training, and support in the field marketing to be able to access structured markets and facilitating access to bank credit.
