4 high school students win World Invention and Innovation Olympic Gold Medals

On February 5, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Nam Dinh) said that four students of the school had just won gold medals at the World Invention and Innovation Olympiad.

The World Invention and Creativity Olympiad (WICO) is an annual competition established and organized by the Korean Universities Invention Association, and by the National Assembly of the country. This patronage.

WICO 2023 is the 12th contest held with the aim of igniting the aptitude and interest in science and technology, as well as promoting healthy competition of high school students around the world. New, innovative and practical inventions and inventions will be judged by an international jury, according to strict criteria, determined by leading scientists.

Up to now, Vietnamese students have attended WICO for 7 years and have won high results.

4 students from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Nam Dinh) won Gold Medals at WICO 2023, held in Korea.

In 2023, the contest will be held at COEX Convention Hall, Gangnam District, Seoul City, Korea from February 3 to 4. The team of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Nam Dinh) participating in this contest consists of 4 students: Vu Duc Manh, Nguyen Trong Phuc, Tran Phuong Linh (grade 12 majoring in Biology) and Hoang Mai Phuc Thinh (class of Biology) 11 English 2).

The children competed and won the Gold Medal with the topic “Nanomelanin derived from squid, protecting human skin fibroblasts against X-rays”, under the guidance of their teacher, Dr. Tran Thi Thanh. Xuan, Leader of the Biology – Technology Group of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.

This achievement once again affirms the scientific research and teamwork capacity of Vietnamese students in general, and students of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (Nam Dinh) in particular. This is also a result consistent with the orientation of students’ capacity development in the 2018 General Education Program.
