This July 9 will be the world premiere of Black Widow, one of Marvel’s most anticipated films, which was initially planned for 2020, but due to the pandemic, it was postponed until 2021.
Natasha Romanoff, played for a decade by Scarlett Johansson, is undoubtedly one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM), and after her sacrifice in Avengers Endgame, many felt they needed a conclusion for this character. In this new installment, we will see much more of Natasha. Here are some of the questions we hope the movie will answer.
Why did Natasha go “to the other side”?
Natasha’s first appearance in the MCU occurs in Iron Man 2 and back then it was a SHIELD people working with Nick Fury. We soon discovered that Natasha acted under the order of the Russians for a long time and something made her change her mind and join the United States.
Much of the film is set in Russia, so many are hoping that Natasha’s reasons for joining the rival will be revealed.
How did she become such good friends with Hawkeye?
In the Avengers tapes it has become clear that Natasha and Hawkeye have become great friends, even his children called her “Aunt Nat.” So far, the MCU hasn’t explored history much, so it could be an opportunity to do so.
Throughout the MCU tapes, a mission they both had in Budapest has been referenced without much detail, so we may finally get to know the story.
Why haven’t we heard much from your family?
Natasha has always been shown as a loner, unlike other Avengers. In what has been shown so far of Black Widow We see that when she was in Russia, she had a kind of family, made up of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Alexei Shostakov (David Harbor), and Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz). Why haven’t they been mentioned so far?
What was really going on in the red room?
From the previous films we know that the red room is a space that trains highly specialized spies. However, Natasha does not have very fond memories of the place, and apparently fled from it. This tape will probably tell us more about this place.
Who will be the new Black Widow?
After the end of phase 4, we are seeing that the heroes that we already met are being replaced. We saw it with Sam Wilson and Captain America and later we will see him with Clint Barton, in an upcoming Disney + series, so many believe that this film will serve to meet the new Black Widow, who would be Yelena Belova. “Scarlett graciously hands the baton over to Yelena, which is going to trigger a new female story,” stated Cate Shortland, director of Black Widow, on Empire. What is not yet known is whether it will have the same name.
