7.7% drop in traffic at the end of January

By type of flow, the changes recorded show a drop of 5.1% in imports, with a volume of 4.8 MT, which is explained in particular by the decline in cereal imports (-13.1%) , coal (-3.9%), petroleum coke (-43%) and hydrocarbons (-15%), indicates the ANP in a briefing note.

Exports, for their part, fell by 12% at the end of January, i.e. an overall traffic of 2.4 MT, due in particular to the sharp drop in the traffic of phosphates (-29.9%), clinker (- 25%) and fertilizers (-9.7%).

The ANP also informs that cabotage volumes fell by 13.3% with a traffic of 257,000 tonnes, mainly induced by the drop in hydrocarbon traffic (-27.8%), in particular diesel at the port of Mohammedia (-72.2%).

The distribution of traffic by port shows that the ports of Mohammedia, Casablanca and Jorf Lasfar ensured the transit of approximately 5.7 MT, which represents approximately 76.1% of the traffic of the ports managed by the ANP.
