A 17-year-old young man was stabbed on Saturday, shortly after midnight, in the Rivière-des-Prairies area, east of Montreal.
The altercation which degenerated took place between several individuals at the corner of Pierre-Chasseur and Barthélemy streets, in a residential area.

The victim, who was injured in the lower body, was taken to hospital by individuals and could not be questioned because she is in critical condition in the operating room, according to agent Jean-Pierre Brabant , spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
SPVM investigators erected a security perimeter to determine the circumstances of the event. Forensic identification technicians were dispatched to the scene as well as a dog handler, in order to comb the area in search of clues.
A second security perimeter has been erected near a McDonald’s restaurant on Boulevard Maurice-Duplessis, a few hundred meters from the first.

The police discovered elements there that will be taken into account in the investigation.
The most recent armed attack, it is added to a long list of violent incidents that have occurred in recent weeks in RDP and in the neighboring borough of Montreal-Nord.
On Saturday morning, the SPVM arrested four people. They are three young men aged 17, 18 and 20, as well as a woman aged 20. The police will meet them soon to find out their involvement in this story, said Brabant.
They are said to have transported the victim with a leg injury to the hospital.
According to preliminary information, the event would not be linked to the four shootings that took place last week in Montreal-North and Rivière-des-Prairies.
