A night game went wrong at a scout camp in Loppem, West Flanders. A 19-year-old girl fell into a three-meter-deep ditch, reports the Nieuwsblad. The firefighters intervened to remove the victim who could no longer move.
“She had a nasty fall of about three meters. The channel was completely dry and the ground was quite hard. It is therefore a serious fall, ”the firefighters told our colleagues.
The scout was still conscious but unable to exit the channel on her own. His comrades therefore called the emergency services: “We had to be attentive to possible spinal injuries to the back and neck. She was lifted by the stretcher and lowered to the ground. There, the emergency medical services attended to her.”
