A motorist lost his life on Wednesday evening after being hit by a 53-foot truck in the Saint-Pierre interchange in Montreal.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Route 138 at kilometer 2, towards Highway 20.
For some reason that remained mysterious in the middle of the evening, the truck and the vehicle collided violently.
The driver of the vehicle, a 70-year-old, suffered very serious injuries in the accident. His death was finally confirmed at the end of the evening.
Route 138 had to be closed to traffic in the interchange for part of the evening, the time to let the emergency services and the investigators do their job.
