A wooden road bridge collapsed Monday morning in southern Norway, plunging into the water, according to reports, a heavy goods vehicle and a car, Norwegian police said.

“Reports that the Tretten bridge has collapsed. A truck and a private car would have fallen into the water,” local police said on Twitter.

“Unclear how many people may have been involved, unclear if there is human damage,” she added.

All local rescue personnel are mobilized, she said.

Inaugurated in 2012, the Tretten Bridge is a wooden structure 148 meters long and 10 meters wide which crosses the Gudbrandsdalslågen river on a secondary road.

It has two lanes for vehicles and a sidewalk.
