The Pechersk District Court chose the uncontested measure of restraint in the form of detention for the driver who beat a pedestrian in Kiev who died on the road, the prosecutor’s office of the capital noted.
On February 20, the Pechersky District Court of Kiev chose a preventive measure in the form of arrest for the driver, whose actions caused the death of a pedestrian. About it informed on Facebook Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
“The driver of the Hyundai car, who is suspected of inflicting a fatal blow on a pedestrian, has been selected as an uncontested measure of restraint in the form of detention. This decision was made by the Pechersk District Court of Kiev,” the statement says.
The prosecutor’s office said that Azerbaijani citizen born in 1992 is a suspect under Part 2 of Art. 121 (intentional grievous bodily injury resulting in death) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The department stressed that a “spontaneous conflict” between the two men arose when a pedestrian “crossed the carriageway in a permitted place.”
Incident took place in the afternoon of February 19 on the street of Architect Gorodetsky in Kiev… During the conflict, the driver of the car twice hit the pedestrian on the head, after which he fell. The victim died on the road. The driver left the scene of the conflict.
