A dinosaur from Argentina could be the largest land animal that has ever existed

A team of scientists from National Council for Scientific and Technical Research of Argentina has brought to light part of the fossil remains of a really gigantic dinosaur that lived ago 98 million years in the region. According to the researchers, the creature could be the largest land animal ever found.

In a study just appeared in Cretaceous Research, the scientists explain that it is a titanosaurium, a group of long-necked sauropod dinosaurs whose various species thrived around the world. However, the last titanosaurs lived in South America, where they evolved into giants. In May 2014, a huge specimen appeared in the center of Argentine Patagonia
