A gradual improvement in Occitania, a still high incidence rate in Aveyron

The latest bulletin from the Regional Health Agency.

Two years ago, on February 27, 2020, the Regional Agency published its first bulletin linked to Covid reporting the first confirmed case in Occitania, in Montpellier. Two years and 250 bulletins later, the story unfortunately continues, at a completely different pace.

This Friday, February 25, the decline in health indicators continues little by little in Occitania. Currently, 2282 hospitalizations are in progress (-168 in 3 days) including 252 in intensive care and critical care (-29) and we deplore 6972 deaths in hospital (+67).

In Aveyron, there are currently 105 Covid-related hospitalizations (-40 in 3 days) including 3 in intensive care (-1) for a total of 339 deaths since the start of the pandemic (+9).

The incidence rate in the region fell below the 1,000 case per 100,000 inhabitants mark, to 872, which is not the case for Aveyron, where it remains rather high (1,114), even compared to the national level (763) where the vast majority of departments are below the threshold of 1000.
