Remember the Bulls’ exceptional start to the season before the train started to derail in early 2022? And bah Lonzo was one of the big reasons. Terrorizing opposing forwards alongside divinely bald Alex Caruso, shooting over 42% from the parking lot (career high please), and feasting on the pass to help the new-look Bulls find their offensive balance, the sonny de LaVar was quick to justify his new four-year, $80 million contract. Playmaking, shooting, defense, so many elements that the Bulls will sorely miss during the first deadlines of the 2022-23 campaign, they who will want to come back with revenge after the end of the season in a fishtail last year (4-1 elimination in the first round of the Playoffs against Milwaukee). An absence all the more regrettable as the Eastern Conference promises to be very hardcore, even more so with Cleveland – in the same division as Chicago – which has just secured the services of All-Star rear Donovan Mitchell…
A knee that is struggling to recover after a torn meniscus, clearly we don’t like that too much. The eight-week absence that was originally planned has turned into an eight-month absence and it is still unclear when Lonzo Ball will be able to retest the orange ball. To Coby White, Goran Dragic or even Ayo Dosunmu of step-up to best compensate for his absence.
