A loud slap to an Iranian official during his inauguration by a man whose wife was vaccinated by a “male nurse”

The newly appointed ruler of East Azerbaijan in Iran was slapped in the face while giving a public address at the Imam Khomeini Mosque in the northwestern city of Tabriz on Saturday.

A video posted online by Iran’s semi-official Fars Agency shows a man quietly walking to East Azerbaijan Governor Zain al-Abidin Razavi Khouzam on stage, slapping him in the face and then pushing him before security guards run towards him and take the perpetrator off the stage.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency identified the perpetrator as Ayoub Alizadeh of the Iranian armed forces.

After his arrest, the perpetrator told police that he slapped the official because he was upset that a male nurse gave his wife a dose of the Corona vaccine at the vaccination clinic and not a nurse, according to the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Corporation.

Khuzam said he forgives the man but believes that appropriate legal action should be taken against the man for his actions.
