Xiaomi presented its new Xiaomi Mi Band 7 in China, which we will know in our region as Smart Band 7. It notably offers a larger screen.
It is becoming increasingly clear that the product renewal cycle at Xiaomi is faster than technological progress. This gives the impression that some new products are victims of this and therefore presents few novelties. This may be the case with the brand new Xiaomi Smart Band 7 unveiled in China on May 24, 2022.
Bigger screen and better sensors
In terms of novelties, there is above all a 1.62-inch AMOLED screen against 1.56 inches for the previous generation. The definition is also improved and goes up to 490 x 192 pixels. In contrary au Smart Band 6the new bracelet now offers an Always-On compatible screen.
Unfortunately, we have already covered the big news. Xiaomi promises the sensors for measure SpO2 have been improved. The embedded software offers 120 training exercises. The 180 mAh battery is given for 14 days of autonomy, with the Always-On mode deactivated. Recharging takes about two hours.
Always a very low price
In China, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 will be marketed at 239 yuan, or approximately 33 euros excluding tax. As in the case of the Smart Band 6, Xiaomi will also propose a version with NFC for contactless payment. As always with Xiaomi, it will take a few months to see the product officially land in France.
Reading the specifications, it seems clear that the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 is a soft update that should not interest owners of Smart Band 6. The target audience is rather the owners of old Xiaomi bracelet who would like to taste the latest additions to the range.
