a man dies after running a red light, a mother and her two children injured

A biker lost his life on Thursday evening in a collision with a car after running a red light in Saint-Nicolas, the East Flanders prosecutor’s office announced.

The accident occurred on the N41, at the crossroads with the E17 which is equipped with traffic lights.

The motorcyclist, who collided with the car in which were three people, a mother and her children, died at the scene of the accident. He was 25 years old and lived in Thames.

The driver of the car, along with her two children, were taken to hospital. The mother was subjected to a blood alcohol test which turned out to be negative. The prosecution appointed an expert to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
