A man stuck at the Porte de Namur metro station this Sunday morning

A man got stuck in the shutters of one of the entrances to the Porte de Namur metro station in Brussels this Sunday morning before being taken to hospital, Stib reported.

Around 5 a.m., when the metro station opened, the man would have remained stuck in the shutters of one of the entrances. “We don’t really know what happened,” said the Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company. The entrance to the station remained blocked for 30 minutes. The firefighters arrived on the scene and took the person to the hospital, further specified the STIB.

“There is nothing broken but there is a possibility of internal injuries,” added Walter Derieuw, spokesman for the Brussels fire department. The emergency services also say they are very surprised at the situation and do not understand how it happened. The doors opening remotely electronically, the system was disrupted and the electricity cut off the time to bring the person down manually, continued the spokesperson.
