A meeting between “Emergency and Crises” and “Cooperation for Emergency Management” in preparation for hosting “CONVEX 3”

The National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management held a coordination meeting with the liaison officers at the Cooperation Council Center for Emergency Management of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, based in the State of Kuwait, to discuss preparations for the large-scale international exercise ConvEx-3 “Barakah Al Emarat” in the presence of representatives of the authority Federal Nuclear Regulatory and Nuclear Energy Corporation.
The meeting aimed to highlight the readiness and national capabilities of the emergency and crisis community in the country to host the international exercise “CONFEX 3”, which is one of the most complex exercises for nuclear and radiological emergencies, and it will be hosted in the fourth quarter of this year at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency. More than 170 participating countries and international organizations are invited.
During the meeting, a general summary of the international exercise was reviewed by the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management, while the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation and Nawah Energy Company reviewed an explanatory summary on the basic preparations for hosting the international exercise, in addition to discussing the entitlements of the GCC emergency center during the exercise. International.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the representatives of the participating parties recommended the establishment of table exercises and communication exercises between the emergency center of the Cooperation Council for Emergency Management and the National Operations Center of the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management in preparation for the international exercise.
