A new person tested positive for COVID-19 in Gaspésie | Coronavirus

The newly infected person is from the MRC from Avignon. No case had been reported since Sunday.

As of Wednesday, the region had 21 infected individuals in its territory.

The Public Health Department does not declare any new hospitalizations. Only one person is currently in hospital linked to COVID-19.

The Bas-Saint-Laurent has 15 new people affected virus. Among the 63 active cases in the region, 3 people are hospitalized. Two were admitted to intensive care.

Public health identifies 512 new cases across the province.

Currently, 298 people are hospitalized in connection with COVID-19. Among them, 75 are in intensive care.

Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé announced on Wednesday the postponement of compulsory vaccination for all healthcare workers to November 15.

The deadline was originally set for October 15.
