It is in India that a new virus worries the local authorities. So far, 80 people carrying the virus have been counted, all of them children under the age of five, says India Today.
Skin rashes, fever, joint pain, vomiting, diarrhea are the main symptoms of the “tomato flu”. Also called “tomato fever”, this disease seems quite similar to that of monkey pox.
According to virologists, this “tomato flu” could be a variant of hand-foot-mouth syndrome, a common infection for children. It bears this name, not because of the ingestion of the food but because of the red and big spots like tomatoes.
