Formed in 1975 in Hamilton, Ontario, the group Teenage Head was one of the pioneers of punk rock in Canada where it rose to fame in the 1980s. On Sunday August 7, its guitarist Gord Lewis, 65, was found dead at his home. Police arrested her son Jonathan, 41, and charged him with second degree murder.

According Radio Canada, several media received emails Sunday announcing the death of the guitarist, even before the discovery of his body. It was these messages that prompted the intervention of the police at the home of the musician, who still lived in Hamilton. The body which was then found was in an advanced state of decomposition, the victim having been deceased for two or three days. Police have yet to formally confirm the identity of the deceased, who bore signs of injuries consistent with foul play, writes the «Daily Mail». The emails appear to have been sent by Jonathan Lewis, who lived with his father.

A message was posted on the Teenage Head Facebook page: “We are heartbroken and still trying to come to terms with the loss of our friend, comrade and brother Gord Lewis. Our hearts go out to his family and all who knew and loved him. Gord was a strength and an inspiration to many. You were taken from us far too soon.

Teenage Head was founded by four students, beginning with Gord Lewis and Steve Park on guitar, Frankie Venom on drums and Desroches on vocals. But Frankie Venom quickly became the new vocalist and Gord Lewis recruited old friends Steve Mahon to play bass and Nick Stipanitz to play drums while Desroches and Park left the band. Frankie Venom died in 2008 from throat cancer. In 2016, Desroches returned to the group.
