A specialist reveals the surprise… To how many people can “Omicron” be transmitted with one sneeze?

He said: It is particularly worrisome for children… and the risk of measles is beyond infection

An immunologist revealed that a mutant carrier “Omicron” for the Corona virus, can transmit infection to about a hundred people when sneezing once.

“Until now, we have not had this kind of infection. Measles was considered the most contagious disease, but Omicron overtook it,” Vladimir Polibuk said in a television interview.

He indicated, according to “Russia Today”, that this mutated virus spreads very effectively through the air through respiratory secretions, such as coughing from one person to another.

And the doctor continued, “I think that even during normal speech, breathing and yawning, a mist containing particles of saliva and mucus can be released, with enough viruses in it to infect another person. If someone coughs or sneezes alone, this amount is enough to transmit the infection to a hundred others.”

He stressed that “Omicron”, is particularly dangerous for children.

Yesterday, Anna Popova, head of the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection “Rosputrebnadzor”, said: The presence of the “Omicron” strain has been registered in 13 Russian regions. She indicated that 305 cases of infection with this mutant were discovered in the country. According to her, cases of entry of this strain into Russia were recorded from 25 countries.

In turn, the Russian Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, stated that the situation with the spread of “Omicron” in other countries is very difficult; Therefore, a state of high alert is imposed in the health care system in Russia.
