At present, academy teachers, even if they have a university master’s degree, are paid at scale 301, ie that granted to teachers in lower secondary education.
With the new provisions, they will be able to access in the future the scale 501, that reserved for teachers of upper secondary education, a difference of 654 euros gross per month.
Nearly 900 teachers in total are affected by the measure.
To obtain this leap in the scale, the teachers of secondary artistic education with reduced hours (ESAHR) will however have to pass a training module of 60 periods which will be organized by the teaching of social advancement.
The imposition of this additional training is nevertheless denounced by many of the teachings concerned.
They point out that most of them already hold either a master’s degree coupled with an aggregation, or a didactic master’s degree in their specialty.
The decree was approved on Wednesday unanimously by the deputies, with the exception of the PTB group which voted against.
