The seventh day is devoted to reading everything he wants to know about the 260 megawatt Ras Gharib wind farm, which won the best energy project in the world, according to what was announced by the American International ENR Corporation for engineering consultancy, and the following is the most important information about the station:
1- Ras Gharib enjoys the highest rates of wind speed in the world, and it is planned that during the next three years it will have the largest gathering of wind farms in the world.
2- The Ras Ghareb wind power plant is considered the latest in Egypt with a capacity of 260 megawatts.
3- The station includes 126 wind turbines with a total capacity of 262 megawatts.
4- The total cost of the station is $388 million.
5- The Ras Ghareb station represents the first project for the private sector to generate electricity from wind energy.
6- There is complete coordination between the station officials and the Ministry of Environment to preserve the migratory birds that pass through this region, which is a global corridor for migratory birds from Europe to Africa and vice versa during the spring and fall seasons.
7- The station abides by all the instructions of the World Environment Organization to preserve birds by placing red stickers on top of the wind turbine blades.
And the American International ENR Corporation for Engineering Consultancy recently announced the results of the international arbitration competition for the best and most prestigious engineering projects and constructions at the level of the world’s continents for the year 2022, which included about 34 projects, Egypt won five prizes, including projects for:
– The best transport project in the world “Adly Mansour Interchange Station”.
– The best cultural project in the world, the Egypt Islamic Cultural Center, which was implemented under the supervision of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces.
– The best restoration project in the world, “Renovation and Development of the Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum”.
– The best project for energy and industry in the world, “Ras Ghareb wind farm in the Gulf of Suez”.
– The best environmental project in the world “Toshka South Villages Development Project”.
