After the Hawaiian pizza, here is the pineapple raclette!

Since its invention in Canada, Hawaiian pizza has sparked controversy among foodies around the world. In France, an influencer has launched a new fashion, and at the same time a new debate, by offering Internet users to concoct a pineapple raclette!

The one who goes by the name @imperatricewu on Instagram sparked passions in December when she submitted her pineapple raclette recipe, admitting to being a Hawaiian pizza enthusiast herself.

She maintains in particular that the freshness of the pineapple counterbalances the fat of the raclette.

Its publication provoked various reactions among netizens, ranging from approval to disgust. Some have called the influencer a “heretic at the stake,” while others would be willing to give it a try.

Ouest-France interviewed various gastronomic specialists among whom opinions are also quite divided.

Céline Pignol, director of the Interprofessional Union of Protected Geographical Indications (IGP for Tomme, Emmental and Savoy Raclette cheeses, is open to tasting this recipe, but intends to continue to eat its raclette in the traditional way.

The manager of the Fromagerie des 5 in Paris, however, is not of the same opinion.

“No, I would not recommend it,” she told Ouest-France.
