Again riots in protest in Spain against the arrest of rapper Pablo Hasél

The protesters are protesting against the arrest of Pablo Hasél. The rapper was arrested on Tuesday morning after police stormed the university in the Catalan city of Lleida. There, Hasél was entrenched to escape nine months’ imprisonment for lese majesty and glorification of terrorism.

Hasél is notorious for his extreme statements in song lyrics and tweets about banned guerrilla movements such as the Marxist Grapo. He also called the previous king, Juan Carlos, a Mafia boss. Among other things, the case has sparked a discussion about freedom of expression in Spain.
