Aggressive insect attacks White House spokeswoman at a press conference

White House press secretary Jen Psaki has had her share of tough confrontations with reporters since taking the job but no one has bothered her like the attack she had to deal with during Monday’s press conference.

Psaki was trying to answer a question from White House Correspondent Peter Alexander on NBC News about whether leaving billions of dollars in US military equipment to the Taliban made America less safe.

She tried to answer the question, but became distracted by something else, a stray insect that attacked her.

Psaki hit the bug and then apologized for interrupting. “Sorry, this was an aggressive bug,” she said, as shown in the video below.

The species of the insect was not yet known, but Psaki’s blow did not lose her ability to answer, and she was able to answer Alexander’s question.
