Alain, 61, died in the fire in his house, “he was a very nice man …”

It is a drama which took place in a small quiet thoroughfare in Gosselies, on Christmas night. The inhabitants of rue Sainte-Aldegonde, formerly rue de la Paix, were woken up by firefighters at around 3 a.m. for an urgent evacuation. Their neighbor Alain Vos, 61 years old, unfortunately did not survive the fire in his house.

Anna, one of her neighbors, had already noticed the flames that were eating away at the interior of the house, before help arrived. “Another neighbor called the fire department who arrived quickly,” she said. “The window on the ground floor was already smashed… It was a real blaze! “

“He was a very nice gentleman”, tells her neighbor.
