Alpine F1 “Alonso did not work on the simulator”[F1-Gate.com]

Alpine CEO Rotan Rossi has backed Esteban Ocon for criticizing Fernando Alonso’s behavior. Implementation, Alonso said in an interview with L’Equipe that he didn’t want to do much work behind the scenes.

The announcement of Fernando Alonso’s move from Alpine to Aston Martin cast a shadow over Oscar Piastri’s drama this summer.

Oscar Piastri was supposed to succeed Fernando Alonso at the Alpine F1 team, but Piastri had other ideas and eventually joined McLaren.

Fernando Alonso’s departure from the Alpine F1 team appeared to be very amicable, with various noises coming from the team’s garage in recent days.

Recently, Esteban Ocon expressed his criticism that Fernando Alonso did not want to work in the simulator and as a result Ocon did 98% of all the work behind the scenes.

Laurent Rossi has confirmed Esteban Ocon’s criticism and suggested a different approach to next year’s Pierre Gasly.

“Pierre will also participate in simulator work, which is one of the big differentiators from Alonso,” commented Laurent Rossi.

“Not all drivers spend time in simulators, but it’s certainly an important factor in the times we live in today.”

“Fernando is not someone who likes to drive simulators, but that doesn’t change what makes him a great driver.”
