Ámbar Cornejo’s father filed a protection appeal against Mea Culpa for an episode inspired by his daughter

After the television channel TVN will announce an episode of Mea Culpa inspired by the Ámbar Cornejo casehis father, Ulises Cornejo filed a protection appeal against the station seeking to prevent its transmission.

As reported by the site Emolthe father of the deceased minor asked his lawyer, Patricio Olivares, to file a protection appeal against TVN before the Court of Appeals of Valparaíso with the purpose of safeguarding the mental integrity of the family.

“The opinion of my client, his family and his close environment, is clearly one of terror and absolute panic, since these people actually lived what they are going to recreate a group of actors doing a job, which is paid by a television station,” said the lawyer.

“We must not forget that the revival of the figure of Carlos Pinto is related to the case of the daughter of whom I represent, due to the interview he had on some occasion with Hugo Bustamante… the realization of this type of programs (… ) generates damage to the psychic integrity of my client, who has let me know”, added Olivares.

Stephanie Labbé, president of the Justice for Ámbar Group, condemned the proposal for the episode, calling for the program to be denounced en masse to the National Television Council (CNTV), because it could affect the brother of the deceased minor.

“This series is going to have a media impact, people are going to see it at home, they are going to comment on it and, surely, it will have other repercussions on the child, because we do not know what details are going to be told,” added Labbé, generating various reactions.
