An expert warns… 5 mistakes committed by office staff that lead to back pain

An orthopedic expert has warned of five daily mistakes people make at their desks during working hours, which can cause back problems.

Dr. Juliet Hobson suggests that many do not do enough to reduce stress and stress on themselves in their daily jobs, and over time, the buildup of stress can cause back pain.

And she continues that the other mistake that employees make in offices on a daily basis is not drinking enough water, because conserving water ensures joint lubrication, which reduces back pain.

And according to what was published by the “Express” website, the doctor notes that her patients who suffer from back pain often do not eat enough protein-rich foods, which are important because they stimulate growth and repair within the body.

Also, when it comes to diets, too many sweets can cause problems around the back, as sugary snacks trigger inflammation and leave strength-building nutrients in that area.

Dr. Hobson’s final warning is that people make the simple mistake of not getting around enough during work hours. So she suggests everyone set reminders on their phones to do so, especially office workers.

She continued, “People may not know, but our physical health and our mental health are very interconnected. If the mind is tense, this indicates that the body is in danger. The body reacts to stress by turning off the short muscles around the vertebrae, which causes these stabilizing muscles to sleep normally.” effective, so you’re liable to get out of alignment, causing spinal pain.”

She added: “This can cause more stress for the person, which means a continuous cycle of pain and stress. It may seem obvious, but getting up and moving for 10 minutes, every 45 minutes, can really make a big difference.”

She explained: “Walking is a great way to tone muscles again after sitting still, when certain muscles have not been used in a while.”

Dr Hobson has partnered with ‘Equals Money’, as part of her campaign which aims to raise awareness about workplace stress causing physical harassment.

The company conducted research on 1,500 office workers, and found that 88% suffer from some form of physical pain, including back, neck or joint pain, while working.

Of these, 82% believe that stress levels at work contribute to their physical discomfort.

As a result, 36% said the pain distracted them from their jobs, and a quarter said it kept them from enjoying activities outside of work.

And when it comes to pain management, 31% of them take heavy painkillers, and 47% use orthotics.

It also appeared that 90% of those who have an office job suffer from pressure at work. The results found that 56% face overwhelming workload, 31% lack of communication, and 28% poor management, which are among the leading causes of stress in the workplace.

Three-quarters of them said stress in the workplace made them want to look for a new job, and 29% of them searched extensively. And 60% had to take time away from the workplace due to stress.
