The Ministry of Public Health issued the following statement: “In the context of following up on the scarcity of medicine in pharmacies, and in order to expedite its provision, 3 technical, administrative and supervisory committees have continued to work since last Friday, to match the numbers announced by the Banque du Liban and to check the billing regulations submitted by Importers and inspecting the stock of medicines in warehouses, as the field visits have so far included the warehouses of 8 importers in a path that will be completed in succession on all warehouses in the next few days.
This aims to set up a quick mechanism for disbursing bills based on preparing a list of priorities the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, so that the Central Bank will approve the disbursement of its dues estimated at one hundred million dollars, which will open the way for companies to start delivering medicines available in their stores immediately to pharmacies.
