THE women’s doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and the women’s singles pair Putri Kusuma Wardani immediately practiced at the Hong Kong Coliseum arena ahead of the 2024 Hong Kong Open which will take place on September 10-15.
Ana/Tiwi and Putri were very enthusiastic in the training. They spent a total of 60 minutes to re-finish their preparations and adapt to the match field.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very happy with our achievement as champions in Taipei yesterday. This is our second title throughout the year. It will be capital for us to achieve even more in the future,” said Tiwi in her statement, Monday (9/9).
In the limited time, Ana/Tiwi tried to quickly adjust to the playing field.
“The field conditions were quite windy but we tried our best to adjust in this limited time. The opponents will definitely be tougher in higher level tournaments so we must not be careless from the start,” said Tiwi.

This led to a change in the draw, including for Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. Ginting was originally due to face Lu Guang Zu (China) in the round of 32. However, after the redraw, he will meet Toma Junior Popov of France.
This match is interesting because the last time Ginting met Toma was during the 2024 Paris Olympics Group H qualifying round.
At that time, Ginting had to admit Toma’s superiority with a rubber game of 19-21, 21-17, 15-21.
“The (draw) rules at the Manager’s meeting are now being implemented by BWF. We, the players, must be ready for these changes,” said Ginting.
“There is still tomorrow to prepare, study Toma’s game again and prepare a strategy. It certainly won’t be easy but I will try my best,” he added. (Z-2)
