The senator for the Alianza Verde party, Angelica Lozanoannounced this Sunday, June 12, that his vote for the second round is directed towards the candidate of the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petro and his vice-presidential formula, France Marquez.

“For women, young people, old people, for those who are left over and want more democracy, I will vote for Gustavo Petro and Francia Márquez. Change is unstoppable and I invite you to join. We put down our differences to keep things from staying the same. Let’s go together to get Colombia forward!” Lozano said on Twitter.
Lozano openly supported former presidential candidate Sergio Fajardo in his aspiration for the Presidency; however, after the results of the first round, the Centro Esperanza coalition dissolved and gave its members freedom to decide who to support in the second round.
Weeks before the first round, Lozano had shown interest in Fajardo being able to consolidate an alliance with Rodolfo HernandezHe even invited him to both have a coffee, but at this point it is known that the agreement was impossible.

Now, exactly one week before the presidential election, the ‘green’ senator published a video in which she explains her decision to give her vote to the leader of the Historical Pact, with whom she has had ideological differences, but also consonant issues for the national schedule.

The support of the senator is configured as an important reinforcement for Petro’s campaign in Bogotá, since in the capital of the country Lozano mobilizes an important sector of citizens, among them, voters related to the mayor’s office of Bogotá, headed by the mayor claudia lopez —his sentimental partner—.
Lozano was re-elected in the last March elections by the Green Alliance. In addition, in 2018 she was consolidated as the most voted woman for the Congress of the Republic.
“Welcome to the change fought for decades (…) The usual thing is that citizens vote for politicians… Today I am the one who votes for youfor each one of the eight and a half million Colombians who decided that Petro and Francia Márquez be the ones to lead the change in this stage of Colombia,” added Lozano.

The senator assured that her vote will be “for the women, for the nobody, for connecting that Colombia that does not dialogue, that does not meet. I vote for the young and the old, because they want to live in a fairer country”.

Journalist Enrique Santos Calderonalso expressed his vote for the candidate of the Historical Pact in a column published in the magazine Change.
“Petro knows the country, the region, the functioning of the State better, and I don’t think he wants to, or can, screw himself into power. In the perspective of a ‘vote finish’, I no longer think that blank is the best option”, wrote Santos Calderón.

These supports are added to those that Petro received on Saturday, such as the former minister and former director of Sergio Fajardo’s campaign, Juan Fernando Cristo; and the former governor of Caldas and elected senator, Guido Echeverri; Alfredo Bocanegra, former director of Civil Aeronautics; Jairo Castellanos, Elector Senator; and Gustavo Moreno, elected senator.
