“The project started about three years ago when we started the development of a new model of landscape evolution on a global scale, capable of simulating millions of years of change. He added: “Our advanced computer simulations used Australia’s National Computing Infrastructure and ran on hundreds of computer processors. Each simulation took several days, building a complete picture to reconstruct the last 100 million years of Earth’s surface evolution.” .
