Anke Graneß deals with the Eurocentric perspective of philosophy. In her book philosophy in Africa. Challenges of a global history of philosophy explores them using Africa as an example, which led to the exclusion of non-European philosophical traditions. She analyzes the effects of racist and patriarchal structures as well as colonialism on philosophy and asks how the history of philosophy could be written in the future.
