Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, announced the launch of an operations room to follow up on Egyptians in Sudan, with recent developments in events.

The Minister of Immigration confirms coordination with all relevant ministries and institutions to facilitate the return of Egyptians wishing to return to their homeland.

In the same context, the Minister of Immigration called on Egyptians abroad to stay away from any areas witnessing conflicts or gatherings in the coming period, to ensure their safety, asking God to keep the brotherly Sudan and its people safe and sound.

For his part, Ambassador Amr Abbas, Assistant Minister of Immigration for Communities Affairs, explained that the Operations Room continues to follow up on Egyptians abroad, and receives any complaints or inquiries via e-mail:
[email protected]

Abbas added that coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take place in this regard, and the situation will be followed up on a regular basis.

The head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, announced earlier today the imposition of a state of emergency in Sudan and the dissolution of the Sovereignty Council and the Council of Ministers.

He also announced the suspension of work on some provisions of the constitutional document, the freezing of the work of the Empowerment Removal Committee, and the termination of the work of the governors of Sudan, referring to adherence to the Juba Peace Agreement.
