Apple iPhone 14 Pro test: less Max, but just as Pro

Interface & OS

Like every new iPhone, this model comes with the latest update to Apple’s mobile OS. Here, it is therefore iOS 16 which officiates in version 16.01, since the terminal requests a quick update on the first start (for the first purchaser). The version of the operating system was presented last June at WWDC and put into beta in the process, which allowed us to offer you an article detailing its new features before the official release on September 12, 2022.

Between its presentation and its availability urbi et orbi, there have been minor adjustments. The main one is in the battery display. The remaining percentage is making a comeback on notched iPhones from the 11 Pro model and not counting the Mini versions. It displays inside the battery icon, giving a much more accurate idea of the charge.
Exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro is the appearance of an Always-On mode for the screen. This means that the panel will never be completely off, but refreshed at 1 Hz (like Apple Watches since Series 5). The user will thus always have visual contact with the time or the notifications. It is obviously quite possible to deactivate the feature in the screen settings. Ditto, the iPhone being a smart machine, the Always-On will not be active if the smartphone is face down, in a pocket or a bag, or if its owner is not close to him and wears an Apple Watch. .
